Kibbutz Beit Oren Housing
12 Houses with adjoining walls, on the southern slope of the kibbutz will replace the housing units that burned down in the fire of 2012. The houses sit on a steep slope bordering a nature reserve.
Much attention has been given to the general facade of the new neighborhood which can be seen clearly from the bottom of the mountain and from all points of the winding road leading up to the kibbutz.
The units are comprised of two different houses adjoined by a common wall, thus creating a many faceted building with interesting volumes, growing out of the slope like a small village.
The neighborhood is planned below the outer ring road of Kibbutz Beit Oren, and the amazing views of the Carmel forest and surrounding hills are open to passers-by on the street. The rooftops which can be seen from the road will be gardened to create a fifth facade.
